Spam, post quality, avatar/signature dimensions, and placement guidelines (lesser importance):
1. No one sentence posts unless they are in The Rubbish of Randomosity, a game, or making a sarcastic remark (Such as "Smooth, Sarah. :=P: "). The main gist is, no useless comments or quick conversation (such as "Hi, how are you?" "Oh, I'm fine"); if two members want to converse while online at the same time in a convenient manner, they can use the chat box or PM. That's what they're there for!
2. No pointless posts or rude interruptions. You will have to use your own common sense here. Basically, be polite of other people's conversation on the forum as you would in real life. Also, use the quote button, as it can be very obnoxious if you're having a different conversation with someone and you don't indicate who you are talking to.
3. Place topics in their proper forums. This is mainly out of consideration for the placement moderators; they will take care of the bulk, but please do your part and think about where you should make your post before you put it in a random place (Note: I'll make a "Where to place your posts" guidelines). This is to keep the forum tidy and organized.
4. The Dimensions for Images in your Signature (all put together) is 550 (width) X 200 (height) pixels. You're free to put characters and text in your sig as well, so long as they don't exceed those dimension rules (for instance, your block of text can't be any higher than 200). This may seem harsh, but it can be unbelievably annoying when someone's signature takes up your entire screen. :=P: If there are no guidelines, then it could eventually come to that. Avatars cannot be higher or wider than 120 X 120.
5.No triple+ posts. Double posts need to kept to a bear minimum, but it is acceptable if your edit button time is over, or you are "bumping" a thread. Other than that please avoid it. They tend to make the forum look spammy and unorganized, and they may also confuse conversation; That being said, in the spam section you can triple+ post to your heart's content.
6. No more than three smileys in a row, except for in the spam forum. This looks spammy, and is generally annoying to other members; too many moving smileys can lock up slower computers as well. One can easily express themselves with one to three smileys. Yes, smileys are fun and all, but even they can be overdone; on most sites and forums, multiple angry smileys (such as ) portray extreme anger, and is usually interpreted as conversation flaming.
You will probably not be heavily moderated for the above rules (though a mod may come in and edit your post), but mods may PM you to give you a gentle prod as a sort of reminder, or mention it in the conversation.
NOTE: These rules may be changed by the staff as they see fit. As such don't be surprised if a few rules are added or altered at some point in the future.
